eliminating Stock PCM ? Is it possible

I currently have a 396 LT1 with Forged everything and a ATI D1SC charger.

I am doing a big porting job on m afr210 heads, adding jessel rockers, looking at a hogan intake, replacing the D1SC witha vortech YS with Cog, 20lbs of boost. 75 shot of nitrous, custom intercooler, FAST EDIS LS1 Coil conversion, and I am replacing guage cluster with a custom built cluster that Zi can put in Autometter guages. I am also removing the factory PCM all together and just using my FAST PCM only.

Has anyone done this.. I am currently using a th400 , seperate fuel system with controller and a 9".

From what I have been told the pcm controls the opti and guages. If i do the ls1 coil replacement and redo my guages what other functions does the PCM do?

Without the opti does it make the LS1 Coil conversion easier?

Thanks in advance

Yes you can remove the stock PCM if you are replacing it with a FAST ECM. But it will take some time going thur the stock wiring harness to remove all the wires that are no longer needed, I saved in the range of 30-40lbs by doing this. But what is the reason that your going to run LS1 coil packs, after you go to a crank trigger your opti problems will be solved, I've been problem free for 4 years.

I would love to go with 215 but already have the afr210s and they are getting ported for free.
