Eaton RUNS!! LOUD PROBLEMS WITHIN..

I can't believe it !

Thank God!

I cranked it up a few times today.. I suspect the tuning to be way off because it surges at an idle.

There is one big problem

It is increadibly loud! I can barely hear over the thing.. its very painfully loud I'm unsure if its because i don't have a air cleaner on it or what but you can distinctly hear it from inside the house. Its even scareing the crap out of the pets. I"m going to call the people who rebuilt it and see what they have to say about it tomarrow.

Congrats on finishing up! We had a Thunderbird SC in the family a few years ago and there is a very slight whine but not really noticeable. If you can hear it really loud, not sure what it could be. Is everything centered properly?

Good luck and keep us updated!

What PCM are you going to run in this? I did a Roots type blown Olds and used a SyTy PCM. It was very difficult to completely eliminate the blower surge. Neat Pics! Post some Dyno numbers when you get them.

This is all on a 93 LT1.. I've tuned quite a few cars in my day includeing a bunch of SC cars so i don't think this will be a big deal...

Just to let you guys know..

Someone is planing on stealing this idea from me and marketing the kit.

I'm deeply deeply offended by this and have one thing to say...

PATENT PENDING

It seems unlikely to me that the idea of putting a certain blower on a certain motor is patentable. Making a kit would be a big project, though. (As you know). Producing manifolds and intake plenums won't be cheap.
Cool project, though.
I assume that is the same blower as on the Grand Prix GTP? Are you using the same pulley? How much boost do you expect?

I expect around 6-8lbs the way it sits right now. I could repulley it and probally get as much boost as i'd ever need out of it.. I know some lightning guys are seeing 18psi

I've got some really unique ideas as far as what i did with injector positioning, belts, upper and lower intake and i believe that would be patientable.

I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to build this for thier own car but when a person ask me to build 10 intakes and ship them to him as soon as possible i get pissed off. he kept mentioning how he would want to market this to the impala crowd too which is complete bullsh*t

I'll say it again, feel free to try this

but.. the day i find someone B]selling[/B] a duplicate of what i've built and dreamed up i'll be very very mad[

Cool

Awesome !!! I've been toying with the idea of doing this to my car, but in a different way.
I honestly wouldn't tell anyone but the people you really trust how exactly to build this thing just yet. After I started selling the ported throttle bodies, every backyard machine shop started making them. I have yet to find anyone who knows how to properly build one yet honestly. Just like the guy who installs the roller bearings for free movment, guess what, he does it because he removes the shaft the stupid way and breaks the caseing causing an air leak.... Oh well, I write too much

Which is it?

As you know, unless you patent something, anyone is free to use your design and sell it. If they are infringing on your patent, you have legal rights. By all means get mad, but getting even, while costly, is more fun.

In most cases of complex auto systems like this, it would cost someone else at least as much to produce as it costs you, so the supply/demand "law" comes into play, and you won't have many competitors unless your pricing is way out of line. You just have to do it better. Look at the folks who port LS1 throttle bodies for $. "Anyone" can port a TB, but some are preceived to do it better.

Isn't a free market economy a hoot?
