I am using CCA-977-16 valve springs, titanium retainers, 10 deg locks...which brings up another point...I noticed last night that my 1.6 RR's were contacting the retainers on the base.

Could that possibly hurt performance?

I also had my timing set to 32 deg WOT...minimum KR, fast attack decay.

Still learning here.

Edit - thinking about throwing my old 226/236 cam back in...ran times in sig with crap heads, weighed a lot more, no skinnies, less CR, horrible .065 ring gaps, broken main cap, broken piston...

Yeah, that's bad. The Ti retainers are tough even if they get gouged, but watch for the locks to start deforming and pulling out of the valve stem (due to side load cocking the retainer I guess). You need to fix this asap. If any retainers are noticeably higher, those locks are in the process of ripping out. Voice of experience... Even without lock problems, the side load might lead to excessive valve guide wear.

You could try longer pushrods, -.050 offset locks (do they make those? - have to watch spring installed height), and maybe lash caps (also require special locks). Once you fix it, keep an eye on the retainer height every couple hundred miles to see if any locks are failing. Or just replace them all to be safe.

I am running longer than stock pushrods and lash caps. I don't have many miles on the combo.

The retainers themselves have no wear or sign of damage.

Just fixing one bug at a time.

Same boat here...GTP6 cam feeling a bit underpowered. Mine is supposed to be a 114, and it has 114 engraved on the end of it. I bought it used, and it did not have cam card from the cam machine.

I am using the 977s, with a +.05 lock to get enough installed height. I have almost zero clearance between the rocker and the Ti retainer, but there is some sunlight going through them. Craig @ GTP personally recommended the 977s to me.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the cam itself. EXACTLY like Cantonracer said - great lowend power, but it is a dog uptop.

I am going to give it a few more months before I run it in cool weather, but right now I'm underimpressed. I also have a strange upper rpm stumble I can't seem to figure out (Comp R lifters, almost zero lash, no knock retard). I'll dyno tune as well.
