I think I may have figured out the problem...I was finding TDC, but not TRUE TDC. I am going to redo it when I get home with the correct tdc tool, not just the dial...Could this be the culprit?

Yep.

Comp Cams Intake Centerline method is pretty good, especially using a hard stop.

Make darn sure you have a problem before you try to "fix" it.

The hard stop is the only way to accurately find TDC, this should help you out a ton!
