Post Is David Vizard on target for LT1 Heads?

I just ordered his book on SBC heads cause I'll be starting to work on my heads soon. Is the information in his book still appropriate is is the material a bit dated.

Thanks for your opinion.

There's really nothing special about LT1 heads... the same information still applies. Jeff Collop used the book as a reference and got very good results... around 400 rwhp with CC306 cam and heads he ported.

I just grabbed this book tonight. Getting ready to lay on the bed and digest as much of it as I can.

Head experts: tell us what some definite DO's and DON'Ts are.

My little car just had its best ET tonight, but it was all over the place as the air got better it picked up lots. I was going to dyno tune, but I think I will save that $200 until I get the heads on.

He has some good info, especially for a beginner. His numbers were horrible. I think 240cfm at .600 lift on the intake. A practice set of heads may be worth it.

Tim- im running almost the same setup as you enginewise. what kind of heads are you running? i did a little porting on my heads and i have gone 7.98 @ 88.7mph with a 1.84 60'. it was pretty warm, and my car is a m6. i was just wondering how it compared to a stock head car... gimmie info!!
