A cyl head is going to take X amont of timing to make the most power with the given set up of an eng...
Now other then a cam change will this affect the timing curve of the eng..if so How and why.

Work the timing at the track or on the dyno. Don't get too hung up on a theoretical "optimum". You're talking about a combination of parts that extend way beyond the engine.

Yes, determining optimal timing is definitely an empirical exercise. IOW, you need to experiment. Variables are huge: barometric pressure, humidity and temperature, fuel used, rod length, CR, valve timing, engine operating temperature, VE, combustion chamber design, bore size, etc., etc.
