custom grind cam request ???

>What type of information do you need when you ask for a custom grind ? I don't see a cam that fits the profile for my new engine , and I want to get the most out of both the supercharger and engine while still staying emissions legal for the "Peoples Republic of Massachusetts" ... opps I mean Commonwealth of Massachusetts

depends on what cam company you choose..Most tend to be vague on a street aplication..
Basic that ive seen comp ask me is weight converter compression head flow at .600 lift(that alwasy makes me laugh, yeah buddie my heads only flow at 600) gears and rpm usage..

Thats why i try to use crower for any cam..Plus their turnaround is faster than comp..They will ask you the above plus tire size transmission gear ratios, and flow sheet data if you have it..Carb CFM intake as well intended rock ratio..

>Does Crower make a cam for the LT1 (1992-1997) ?
I like the the Crane Cams (had them since my 1970 RS Camaro in high school) , and basically it's going into a bored/stroked , supercharged , fuel injected LT1 , with AFR heads , and a 6 speed tranny .

Sounds like he should be making the recommendation to me, considering he's building the engine and all.

One thing I've found about cam companies is that you, 'the next customer on the waiting list', only get to talk to one of their lackeys... who just love to get rid of you by thriowing one of their catalog specials at ya.
On the other hand, if you know a good engine builder that knows some people, then he can actually talk to someone who, first of all knows their $hit and secondly, will work to put them into a cam that fits their needs. I believe there is a big advantage their and I've seen some of that here lately with some of my friend's motors. JMO FWIW.

>Don't get me wrong ... Nick had a cam all set for me , but it was a Competition Cam and I only use Crane Cams (personal preference) so he gave me the limitations for the duration @.50 , LSA , and RPM range . I hope that I won't have any problems with their "lackeys" . But I will keep those that are interested wheter or not I get "the hurry and hang up" routine .

>I tried to compare similar cams to the Crane Cams catalog and website , but there isn't one . unless I go with a 112LSA instead of a 114LSA . But won't that affect emissions ?

Custom cam

I deal with Cam compaines on the phone every day... for a custom grind its hard to beat Crower.
Call up and ask for Dave, he has spent hours on the phone with me helping to setup cams for some really wild applications.
With Crower you also know that you are getting the best possiable materials.
