Cometic gaskets?

Anyone using cometic gaskets with a street car. Wondering how they seal? Real life experience would be appreciated.

Deck and head must be smooth and flat. Otherwise, they will seep. If you are running very high cylinder pressures thye are a good choice, otherwise don't bother.

Is 12:1 Compression and a 200 shot enough cylinder pressure to require cometic gaskets?

I'm running 1074's w/ close to that (160rw worth of N2O ).. And they're still intact. Even after 3 years. I've got a set of cometics in the garage waiting for a new motor buildup for boost + N2O however.

I ran 14lbs of boost and a 200hp nitrous shot with FelPro #1074. YMMV.

Re: Cometic gaskets?

Thanks for the reply guys... Since the block is still in the car and only the heads are getting freshened up, I'll stick with the Fel Pro's and try them out, I've used them so far, and only sprayed playing around on the streets... When I took the heads off, the gaskets looked pretty much brand new.. If/when they go, I'll step up to the cometics if I don't trash everything and go LSx variant in the Hawk.
