Block filler ?s

I know it's not for street cars, but I'm still curious about it.

Any recommendations when doing it?

Is there a certain material that is recommended?

Would this be feasible on an LT1 w/ the reversed cooling flow?

How far do you normally fill up to?

What's the advantages?

There's pros and cons to using block filler. You don't want it in a street engine. Rarly is it used on an engine that runs gasoline. Most of the time it's for alcohol engines since they run cold enough that coolent in the block isn't a concern.

A block is usually filled to the bottom of the water pump holes. Properly done, the block is tilted so that the cylinders are verticle. Then the block filler surrounds the entire lower part of the cylinders.

I wouldn't worry about block filler unless you're building 700+hp. It just strengthens the lower parts of the cylinder walls.
