what headers did you use? and do you have to drop the motor to do plugs?

Headers were $1300 uncoated. Then $300 to coat, but they fit perfect.

$1300 is cheap compared to having a set made.......with a project like that I would spend the money on good headers.

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a long time.

I have two experiences with the HKR-2455's with the BMR k-member. With a Mark IV 454 using 990 cast iron heads the headers fit and the problem was #8 I believe. It's a rather large problem and requires re-routing that primary. I cut the section out that was hitting the firewall to see what had to be done and you have to beat the hell out of your firewall or loop it and route it straight down.

Using a Gen V block and RHS heads the headers won't even fit. The configuration of the heads moves the exhaust port and they are meatier so the primary tubes actually hit the k-member at the back mounting point of the LCA and won't bolt flush. I'm trying to decide what to do. I can either relief cut in several spots on the primary and bend it or use a torch and heat the tubes and try to move them around. Either way is a real PITA. Would I rather spend $1300 on a set....hell no I would like to have an assortment of headers because I'm sure there is a set that can be used, it's just access to them for trial and error fitment.

 

I got my 2455s two weeks ago, got them on and had to cut the fire wall where the hvac went. no problem because I hadn't sealed it off yet. that is the # 8 tube that hits. on my heads the headers had to be ground on the flanges where the bottom head studs hit, the studs are just tall enough to interfere. this is the third set Ive done like this.

 

also, are you using a standard height block, or what?
