Aww shoot! Piston looks like a piece of Swizz Cheese

I cleaned off my number 8 piston to fully see how bad it was after the porcilin tip broke off my NGK and into the cylinder. The top of my piston looks like Swizz cheese it has all these Burrs in it. And on the edge there is a small pinhole in the piston where it chipped on the edge. I sanded down the burrs to save my new heads from looking like my old ones. Is there anything I can use to patch this things up? Does anyone think it will be a problem?

Wow, ive never heard of the tip of a plug breaking of and doin that kind of damage. If you tried to smooth it out and there are no evident oil leaks or severe damage to the cylinder wall i would think it will be fine. That is so long as the integrity of the piston has not been comprimised which is hard to tell without actually inspecting things ourselves.

Get a new piston and save yourself a lot of trouble if it breaks down the road causing it to trash the block.

It's your engine and for a 50 dollar piston I wouldn't chance it.
