Anyone that knows hot to identify rods look at this:

Ok guys I got an engine I'm still not 100% on the rods, I know they are H-beam & they don't look quality since in the "H" it has like a groove which I don't see in most quality rods, like a casting groove, but it does say on a few rods "5700BS" on them, I understand this means they are 5.7 inch rods which I figured out before looking at the stamp but what does "BS" stand for? "Bull$hit"?

LMK guys, the rod bolts are ARP EAGLE written on them, now I understand rods come with bolts & these are in an assembled motor, so are these eagle rods?

Thanx.

Matt.

Those are 5.7" Eagle cheapies. Supposed to be limited to ~450hp according to Eagle, but we spun a set of 6" cheapies to 7800rpm at 575hp and the rods never gave up, even with the cheapie bolts that come in em. The better Eagle rods are going to have B3D at the end of the part number.

Are you sure? I was told by eagle they are the more expensive version, where did you find a part number with 5700BS on it? I still don't know what it means, the guy from Eagle on the phone said they are the B3D even though it doesn't say it anywhere, are you sure?

Thanx LMK asap.

I am very sure that the better Eagle parts are the B5700B3d rods Vs the 5700BS rods. That said, Eagle aren't really a "good" rod, just a very good value.
