http://www.swaintech.com/goldcoat.html

I was wondering what your experiences were with these guys and if it was worth it on a nitrous motor...

I see alot of the FI guys doing it so I was curious

Thumbs up

AFAIK, Dan Swain is one of the orig. coating gurus. I've used them on numerous occasions and have had good results with their products. And I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Swain is a very good company to deal with. I attribute the long life of my pistons with both boost and juice to their psiuton crown coatings.

since I am sending the heads back to Dart for the valvejob I was thinking of having them do the coatings aswell...

I think a coating of the pistons, chambers and valve faces should sufice after talking to a friend who did this....any opinions?

thanks,
Rick

Some companies do some coating in house since there are companies that sell the coatings for application to vendors.

Swain is a very good coating company, has done some pistons for me. Polydyne and Calico are also both good choices.

You might want to just coat the piston tops to keep them from getting eaten up from detonation if you plan on pushing the limits of the N2O, or god forbid it goes lean on you.

One of the few top T-Bird SC engine builders uses Swain coatings on his 20+ PSI street car and offers it to his customers. Haven't heard any of my T-Bird buddies have anything bad to say about it.
