Another Cyl Head Thread, help me decide.

Yeah i know i've made a whole thread about this subject a few weeks back and i got some very good advice from people. I'm pulling the motor out this week and pretty much decided to stick with 23 degree head. Most likely an ALL PRO 245RR head or RHS 235. I've researched and talked to a few people. Everyone says both are good heads, problem is ALL Pros are over a grand more expnsive(which is really not a problem as long as its worth it) Another thing is Its going to be another $500-600 extra for a set of custom split port headers.....once again money isnt really an issue its just i want to make sure that i'm droping 2 grand extra on something that is def going to be worth it.

Who is doing the port work on either? I would not buy the all-pro cnc program for what you are looking to do. Both done to their fullest, the allpro will crush any other traditional 23 degree head except the dart RR.

Why don't you have your current headers modified?

Why in the world if you are spending 18 degree money...you don't but 18 degree heads????

IMO the RHS 235 is the best 23* head for the money(standard port configuration), The All Pro is a whole different animal, headers if fabbed will be $1500 by the time you are done.

The All Pro will really need a FAST, BS3,DFI system to take real advantage of them.

NIce stuff though. BTW there is a setup JUST like mine in the for sale section. RHS 235 heads and a Super Vic used for CHEAP! Just have the heads converted and rock on.

Not sure whos doing the port work yet, i heard you do good work though
I talk to my machine shop and and he pretty much told me that converting to lt1 is not a big deal but 18 degree stuff i might have to change my pistons, since they are dished i might be able to use them but i might not be able to run high lift....because the ange of the valves changes. so like i said i'm not pro in this, i just started my research a few weeks ago. As far as having the current headers modified i really dont know who can do the work, i'm going to get a diffrent set headman 1 7/8 with a 3.5 collector right now i just got the hooker 1 3/4 with a 3" collector which are killing me.

#1. You have a big *** blower on this thing.... Dropping a bunch of coin on heads is, well dumb. IMHO after you have quality std port 23° heads on there the cam makes more difference with a hairdrier.

#2. PICK SOMEONE TO DO YOUR HEADS AND LET THEM PICK THE CASTINGS

#3. Sounds like whoever told you converting heads was easy hasn't done lots of them. The castings you start with make the most difference.

#4. Just for David.... I wouldn't say the 235 RHS is the best STD 23° head out there.

he didnt actually said its simple he just said its easy compared to stuff he has done for some of the OutlawProstreet guys.
So in your opinion The RHS head is plenty for my combo if its done correctly and anything bigger that that would be a waste of money? RHS heads can be had for decetly cheap, regular headers will bolt up to them, you dont need to use offset lifters etc.

Did you read the same thing I wrote?

What heads do you have now that you want to change?

Save yourself some time and money and either spin the YS harder or cool off the charge better.
