Alcohol Injection???
Alcohol Injection???
I have seen alot of guys using this on the Turbo Buick board, but I know nothing about it. What are the pros and cons, and is it something that is even possible to use on ours cars? What is the purpose of it? It is used like a N2O setup, or is it used for a different reason? It not like I'm looking to put one on, but just want some info as to what it is all about. Anybody have any info on this, or even a link to more info?
Basically, the alcohol allows you to run more boost than you normally could with a given fuel. In other words, you could have a tank full of pump-gas, and still crank the boost up to race-gas levels with the alcohol. But when you don't need it, then you're not burning up $3.60 race fuel.
Of course, you can use it with race gas as well...
The only con really, is to make sure the alcohol tank doesn't run empty. If it does, then ka-boom!
It can be used on any car with boost.

A fancy system that is boost activated can be purchased from Carroll Supercharging www.carrollsupercharging.com. I am using their system. My friend Bob Kennedy puts together an excellent kit that is RPM based and also uses high quality components at a less expensive price than Carroll. His site is www.kennedysdynotune.com. Mention my name if you want to.
Water/alcohol cools the intake charge and promotes more efficient combustion. I am using it to make 597 rwhp (617 with race fuel and 733rwhp with nitrous) on pump gas with a mild cam and full emissions equipment and no intercooler.

Those are VERY impressive numbers. That must be a fun cat to skin from time to time. Kudos, and thanks for the info.
