Re: AFR 195 heads
With many heads on the market today and even though I run AFR's., Most do not flow as advertised and AFR is one of them... expect independantly flowed to see 15-20 cfm less than advertised...Every bench is different it seems....With additional handporting however the numbers they do have on thier site is achievable!!

Doesn't matter.
I suggest that you tell him that you have cash in hand and are ready to buy, but you want to see the flow sheets BEFORE you do.
Otherwise, walk away. Anything that sounds too good to be true generally is.

Ditto....
Is it really saving money if you buy junk?
BTW did these exact heads make that power? What were the parts run with them etc...
I know flow numbers don't mean anything, hell 260cfm Super Stock ports can make over 600hp with the right setup.

Re: AFR 195 heads
yes these are the same heads. he says it has a decent solid roller cam, didn't say specs until $$$(if i bought whole engine), all forged, victor jr. intake ported to match, pro form 4150 holley carb, 10:1, MSD pro billet dist, 5.85" rods, um....what else. i think thats all i know about it.
he built a guys 406 with canfield heads 9:1 and a smaller cam then whats in the 383 (he says) and in a 3200 lb 68 camaro at 4600ft ran 11.02 all motor. and a 10.3 with a 150 shot.
he runs a 323 sbc in his 3rd gen bird and runs 9.2's i think. all motor at 4600.

Re: AFR 195 heads
If he's not disclosing the flow numbers, he's got something to hide. Heck, if I was selling a nice set of heads I knew they flowed good, then I would use that as my selling pitch, won't you?
