Post '78 block FI conversion options.

I have a '78 Chevy block that, when I got it had 400 sb heads on it. Well I rebilt the bottom end and found some 350 heads with 2.02/1.56 valves but the heads dont have any port work done at all.
I would like to know if I could slap a TPI intake with injectors on it? Besides the computer what other accesories would I have to swap? Would it even bolt up?
Thanks for the help in advance. I plan on putting this motor in a 4th gen.

Check these guys out.

www.tpis.com

Look at their "Mini-Ram". You can also get the wire harness, injectors, custom PROM, and fuel rails from them.

Edit: You can order a free catalog too .

Dont think that a tpi will fit under the hood of a 4th gen..

If you get the dist and all the sensors on the block and heads you will have little problems..

Ive done it about 29 times before..Now to make it fit id suggest that you look into some of the carb intakes setup for injection..Run a 4bbl throttle body on it or run the TPI throttle body with an elbow to adapt it to the carb pad..Ive done that before on a few stangs before and it would work great on a chevy..The only thing that your changing is the intake manifold..

how fast are you planning on going?

The only reason to take a traditional small block over an LT/LS is that you're wanting Splayed valve heads or some kind of funky big block. As far as accessibility goes and the whatnot, you're far better off with an LT1 because of the ignition system being in the front of the motor. My suggestion would be to either trade off for a Gen2 block and a DFI setup. Or sell that motor and invest in the DFI and H/C.

That unported motor will make less HP than a stock LT1 (w/ the same mods) and the mods are availible to bolt on to the LT1. It's not like parts availibility is an issue.
Just my .02
