Pretty odd since he was the leader of firing squad executions that killed thousands.
During the Cuban missile crisis, Che was in favor of a nuclear war with the U.S. because he believed that a better world could be built from the ashes, regardless of the cost in millions of lives. Thank god Kennedy and him didn't get to go thru with their who got the bigger dick exercise in the early 60's... goes to show reguardless of background and ethnicity ego can always overpower sense.
Gotta say he was interesting, a crazy SOB, but interesting.

Talk about thread drift!
Please, don't take me ofr an apologist for the Cuban Revolution. Way to big an issue for me to tackle here in my "fun place". But while Che was a committed revolutionary and was at various times responsible for prisons, executions, etc. the number of "thousands" may be exaggerated. Who knows? Castro probbly does, but he certainly cannot be trusted to tell the truth if it is unflattering. Was the Cuban Revolution justified? All of the methods? Before one can answer that I think you would need to study the American Revolution, the situation in Cuba during the Batista era. Batista was a general who usurped power during a military coup in 1952 during an election.
The Wikipedia articles on this era are quite objective and fairly brief. Here is the one about Che: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Che_Guevara If you follow the hyperlinks, you will learn more than you ever wanted to know about this stuff.
Anyway, I agree with the iconic statement.
