3.8 liter rebuild

i was wanting to know if the heads off of a 4.3 liter vortec would work on my 3800 series II. i have to put some new heads on it and i was really wanting to put some better heads than stock. and i also would like any recommendations on a cam or any other mods that are decently inexpensive that i could do why i got the engine pretty much broke down. thanks,
allen

I could be wrong here but I am almost 100% sure that the 3.8 V6 is a 60* block and the 4.3 V6 is a 90* block. If that is the case, no they would not be interchangeable.

...........actually I know for a fact they will not be interchangeable because those engines are not even in the same "family". The 4.3 is basically a 350 with 2cyls cut off. You might ask the Turbo Buick guys about heads.

well i guess i should have listened to my dad. he told me the same thing pretty much word for word. another question i had is, does anyone hear know how to take the exhaust manifold bolts out if i keep the engine in the car. i cant seem to get to 2 of them and that is close to the last thing i have to do.

3800 is based on 90 degree Buick design from the 60s.

4.3 L 90 degree V6 is 3/4 of a SBC.

No common heritage.
