1969 LT1 Chevelle

I was wondering how hard it would be to drop a LT1 engine and tranny in a 69 chevelle.

If i get a wiring harness from painless and use a stock computer and sensors, how difficult would it be to fabricate everything?

Details. It's always about the details. The basic engine is still just a small block Chevy so it will bolt to the trans and frame. It's things like the throttle and tranny cables, front-end accessories, radiator hoses, air intake system and all the zillions of ancillary parts/hoses/wiring that will give you fits.

They did this swap in CHP, but made it a carbed motor. If I remember right it was a stright forward swap. Nothing was hard about it.

Well i dont think it would really matter what kinda fuel system was put in minus the lines and pumps (would need a return line correct?). The whole fuel injection system replaces the carb. I would keep the FI for effeciency purposes.

The car im thinking about is a 69 chevelle body with a 4.88 posi 12 bolt for 3500. It is mostly rust free and needs paint.

How difficult would it be to get the shifter for the tranny hooked up straight? This would be with the t56 from an LT1.

You would need to cut a new hole in the floorboard to mount the shifter, doesnt the t-56 shifter sit farther back than a 4spd?

My neighbor has done it. He has a 68 chevelle with an iron head LT1.
The thing that seemed to give him the most trouble was the computer.
Its a cool car I guess but I like my f body a lot better.
My nieghbor also did a 57 T bird with a 5.0 from a Mustang. Now that's a cool car!
