there are no cast intakes available for 15* heads, you have to go sheetmetal, nascar never used a 15*head,odds are they are 18*'s

Don't know the whole history other than to say that they WERE used in GTP racing classes many years ago. Don't know about Nascar??

This head must be a bit different from the later 15 degree variants because there are cast intakes available for it. Edelbrock makes a Super Vic that works with the Pontiac xxxxx434 head and that same intake works on a few raised runner 23 degree.

BTW there are cast intakes for many 15 degree heads. Take the Brodix -12 for instance.

As far as the inatke goes yes they make them. I have one. This set up was recently used and prepped by Fulton Racing in South Carolina where it was on a 311 CI small black that made 762 on motor. It was a asphalt motor set up.

Conversion consist of modifing the cooling passages for reverse cool, and in some cases (like the pontiac head) providing a place for return oil.

BTW. Cast intakes for the early pontiac stuff is readily availible.
