zz4

I need help. Right now I have a newer 350 create motor with tpi and I am going to a zz4 motor soon. This is where my problem begins. I have seen allot of zz4s with tpis but that seems to be a little mismatched tpi lower rpms, zz4 high rpms. So what should I go with LT-1 or HSR? Please Help
Thanks
Mark

Re: zz4

I use the ZZ4 cam in my LT1 and really like it. Something to consider here is that LT1 or Vortec(if you want to stay with the gen 1 block) outflow the ZZ4s heads by like 15%. I suggest you consider putting Vortecs and the ZZ4 cam in your current motor, maybe use aftermarket runners for the TPI. The ZZ4 cam does not have to rev high even with my ultra short runner LT1 intake it has never seen 6000rpms.

Re: zz4

well, I thought about that but I can buy this new zz4 from a friend for 2300.00. So I think I'm going to buy it and keep mine with the tpi on it for a spare just in case something happens.

Re: zz4

Well you will be getting a stout bottom end out of the deal, always a good thing. If in the future the power bug bites again just know those heads are not great so you can easily find more power there without having to swap in a more aggressive cam.
