Yet more 700R4 questions....
Couple things:
1) car has 114k miles...trans leaks a *little fluid* but not much. When driving, the trans shifts nice and firm... no problem.... once the RPM rises over about 2k, it slips. Kinda like in a manual tranny if you were to let the clutch slip at that RPM... Wondering if there could be a line 'partial' blockage problem somewhere I could troubleshoot which is preventing the pressure from holding at higher RPM's...
2) assuming the trans is gone and will need a rebuild, since I seem to have a hard time sourcing late 80'early 90's 700r4's with the VSS hookup, will the auto trans from a v6 car work (is it the same)?
Best I've found is $1200-$1500 for a rebuild locally - I have a few more places to look but I feel that's kinda high. I also am trying to avoid the whole mail-rebuld-mail back process...I'd rather just get something and pop it in there...
Any suggestions?

well for a new 700R4, you are looking at around 2K for a great trans, I spent around 1500 to have mine rebuilt my trans specialties in pennsylvania, I picked it up myself, but even with problems i had they were more than happy to help me resolve anything, the trans works INCREDIBLE, the mail roder thing is not that bad, but I only recommend it if you need really strong tranny. because it will get costly, toherwise, see whats the cheapest you can find in summit or B&M or something.
that's just it...I don't need a GREAT trans... I just need something that will get me to/from work and an OCCASIONAL run down the track with stock running gear...
Anyone know the answers to my prior questions????
