y-pipe question

posting this for a friend...

Im close to getting a pair of 2460 hooker headers with the smog setup but the only ypipe i can find replaces the cat(16767 hooker y pipe). Can I bolt these headers up to the stock ypipe for now? Is there another ypipe that will fit or is the only way to keep the cat a custom ypipe? thanks

btw its a 88 305 tpi with manual trans.

i dunno about the 2460's but the 2055's are a GREAT fit and have the emissions air tubes and have a great fitting Y pipe. another thing i like about the 2055's is where the Y and header collectors meet, they bolt together using a flair and socket joint, no more gaskets!!
