wires with headers question

wires with headers question

ok so im ordering my headers tommrow my question is will my 8.8 accel wires be ok or should i get the wire wrap and boot covers, the boots are thick and look to be tough but just wondering. i picked up a starter shield to, just really wondering on this wire issue. i dont need wires melting. thanks

If the headers are coated and the wires don't touch them you'll be fine. With uncoated headers, I'd run heat shields at least on the plug wire boots.

For what it's worth, when I went from manifolds to headers I picked up a set of cut-to-length wires with 90* boots and ran the wires UNDER the headers and around the back of the heads. It's a much cleaner look and it keeps the wires off the primary tubes.

yes the headers are hedman coated and i guess i will need the looms or separators to run the under the headers.

I just found out today when I got my car back that the headers I ordered came with a kit to size the wires & stuff for the sparkplugs. Of course I use Taylor wires for my car.

great just great, after a month of soaking bolts to prepare this header install i found out today i have been soaking the nut on the stud that threads onto the stud itself, there is no way to lube the bolt then cause its threaded into the head, unless convection is taking place., am i fuc$ked
