Since I have taken my IROC off the road I havent had time to build a shelter for it yet. SO it doesn a whole lot of sitting around in my backyard. And were coming into the rainy season here in Fl. My new Cragars keep trying to rust, if I dont clean the bastards every two hours. I want to take them off the car and put them indorrs covered up until I an get the car on cement with a roof over it.
In short I have a set of '89 Vette rims. They arent bad looking. I gues they are polished rims and need to be repolished. But anyway, I dont even attempt to take care of them, and they never change. I couldnt pay them to rust. They are 17x9 front and 17x9.5 rear. The fronts have tires and the rears dont. But they way vette wheels are designed I dont know if they will fit. I dont want to go find tires to fit them if they wont even bolt up. Will they bolt up or will the back of the rims hit parts of the frame/rearend or something before I get to the lugs?
Plus any techniques on restoring the vette rims would be nice.

ehh...no they won't. Like said you will need spacers to make them fit. The rims on an '89 vette have a very high positive offset (about +50-60mm) while the 3rd gen camaro rims have a 0mm (neutral) and +16mm offset for the front and rear.
If the car is just going to be sitting on a set of junk rims, you are probably better off using something like this or this. You can find a cheap set of burned off 15" tires at any used tire shop.
As for restoring the vette rims, I suggest you head on over to the "show and shine" section. (say that 5 times fast

And I did put that in show and shine once and it didnt get a single reply.
Spacers are gonna run you about $300-$350 for a set of four. Some sources for these are....
www.vettebrakes.com
www.skulte.com
www.performancewheel.com/adapters.html
and ya, show and shine is pretty dead. It seems this site leans more toward the "go fast" side rather than "look good" side.
