I just put a 350 carburated in my 89 rs. Is there any way to get the in dash tach to work with the HEI?

 

Ya man, our cars are HEI already.. just hook the tach into the distributor man

 

On your old stock divorced coil, computer-controlled HEI there is a 2-wire plug that comes from the wiring harness and attaches on the top of the coil. One wire is a large pink wire- attach that to the BATT/12V+ terminal of your earlier-style large cap HEI (that's the power wire from the ignition switch). The other wire is a smaller white wire- attach that to the TACH terminal of your earlier large cap HEI. The stock tach will function properly.
