Will my 305 TPI run 13's N/A?
Will my 305 TPI run 13's N/A?
I have a modified 87' 305 TPI motor in my 92' camaro. Last time i took it to the track i hit a 14.4 at 94mph. This was done with street tires which was dropped to 21psi
,leaking coil, 2 bad plug wires and with 3.23 gears.
As of now i have a brand new Coil, New wires and Nitto 555 Drag Radials. I also installed 3.42 rear gears(im running a t-5 tranny). Im hoping to hit high 13's. I plan on taking it to the track soon, so anyone wanna post any guesses on what i might do at the 1/4 mile? guess it could be fun.
i think i'll hit 13.9 at 101mph.

I guess it would depend on how good the car hooked on the street tires on your 14.4 run and how well the track will be compared to that run.
Rule of thumb with those Nitto Drags: HEAT THE **** OUT OF THEM
As far as pressure goes, you'l have to do some testing but I would start at 25 PSI and keep going lower until it hooks best. Drive around the waterbox also if you can.
I would also do some minor stuff that is really cheap. I would take the intake plenum off and port the inside(grind down the little walls behind the throttle body openings making them as smooth and free flowing as possible), then I would remove the air filters which I'm assuming are stock. If you want, run without them or put something else there that filters more freely like a set of K&N Filters.
Last but not least, Let the car cool down as much as possible. Possible wire your cooling fans to a manual switch and keep them on in the staging lanes. That along with a 160 degree thermostat helps like crazy. A bag of ice on top of the plenum and throttle body works nice also.
Goodluck! That's a 13 second car in the making!

I got a 14.1 @99mph with a 2.3 60' time.
I started out with an LG4 305 5 speed and put a TPI setup, cam, cold air, and other small things on the car.
Now it's being converted to LT4.
