Will this engine work in my Camaro?

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...6-P786C63.aspx

I need to know if I would have any problems putting one of these into the car. From what I can tell it's the same thing that's in it now just a model year newer. And if memory serves me right, nothing really changed on the TBI Motors. I've decided to do this b/c it's easy, and fairly affordable. Plus the warranty doesn't hurt either. Thanks Guys...

since it's a different year, make sure and check to see if the warranty is still valid. sometimes they do some "fine print" on things like that.

if i were you i would ditch the 305 and upgrade to the Goodwrech 350 for a couple hunder more bucks.

linky

when the warranty is up...stab a bigger cam in there and you'll be making 250hp or so.

ewww... dont waste money on a 305... you will be much happier spending a bit more for a treefiddy.

You will spend more modding the 305 than it would be just to buy the 350 crate with more HP to begin with.

I realize that but I just need the car to run, i'm getting a divorce and well the Camaro is going to be my Daily Driver again. So I need something that I can just literally drop in and go. Something that doesn't need any major changes, although I will take this opportunity to install my Headers and Y-Pipe.

The 350 is identicle in size and shape on the exterior, so it will bolt right up. You may need to upgrade the prom and injectors but that should be it.

I believe this is why he is wanting a drop in...
Some arguement can be made though if the 305 gets better gas mileage than the 350

was it 88 or 89 that they began full serpentine belt setup because i believe that would effect the type of balancer used

Looks like that one will do the job, although I may pay a little more, I at least know it won't void the warranty. How is your new TPI engine running? If I had more time I was going to drop that one in. It looked like a real hellraiser on paper. Ah well i'll hop this one up a little bit, and eventually work my way up. Thanks for your help guys I appreciate it.

This one is really good, 330HP/380LB FT, also and still pretty cheap. You might have to use a different intake. http://www.sdpc2000.com/catalog/120/...e-Assembly.htm
