Will Edelbrock performer intake work with Vortec Heads?

Will Edelbrock performer intake work with Vortec Heads? Or do I have to buy the Vortec intake? It's for a TBI. Thanks.

Scoggin-Dickey part number SD8060RAKIT is a package with Upgraded (.570" lift) Vortecs with an Edelbrock Performer Intake.

Edelbrock also sells a Performer Vortec Intake, part #2116. It's non-EGR so you'll have to do away with the EGR on your TBI motor.

So what are my options right now? S/R Torquer 305 Heads with Edelbrock intake OR Vortec Heads with Vortec Intake? I thought there was an Edelbrock performer intake that was designed for the 96-up Vortec Heads. What Heads/Cam/Intake Combo would you guys recommend? I already have the LT1 cam out of my '96. I plan on getting 230 RWHP on my TBI - the same as a stock LT1: 13's with the right driver and enough to beat those '99 Mustang GT's. Thanks.

Part 2116, are you certain it will fit the Vortec Heads? I don't want to buy it and then find out it doesn't fit. I don't care about EGR or AIR. Thanks.

Yea man, here is what Edelbrock's catalog says:
"Based on the highly successful and powerful Edelbrock #7101, this single four-barrel intake is designed for the street rod, marine and engine swap market utilizing 262-400 c.i.d. Chevy V8s with 1996 and later Vortec (L31) cast iron heads."

The only trick is that you need an adapter to bolt the TBI unit onto a 4-barrel intake. They aren't hard to find, I think you can get them through Summit and Jeg's.

Some more questions regarding the Vortec heads:

1. Is it imperative that I mill the chamber from 64cc to 58cc or can I get away with it?

2. I noticed that the 'basic' Vortec head valve spring can hold up to 0.450 Lift. The LT1 cam has an intake lift of 0.447 and exhaust lift of 0.459. Does that extra 0.009 Lift mandate that I buy the 'upgraded' heads with Z28 Valve springs and LT4 retainers or will it be alright?

Thanks.

I was told to mill them down .02 i think.....I need to find out what the chamber size is on the stock heads. Also use a thinner head gasket....as for the springs I will be changing mine..
