Angry Why is my gas milage so poor???

I'm only getting about 200 miles per tank of gas...My car is a 91 z28 with a 305 TPI and auto. I also checked the fuel pressure and it is just where it needs to be. Any ideas???

I'm not sure what this car got before...as soon as I bought it I put the cam in it and the other goodies. My 89 IROC w/350 and auto got better gas mileage and it had alot more stuff done to it than this little 305.
Thanks,
Adam

you get 200 miles out of 15 gallons or less of gas lets see, 14 mpg or a little more, yeah i know it seems low but remember these are sports type cars, with a v8 engine, they aren't intended to get great mileage, and keep in mind the more you beat it, the more gas you use, so mileage drops, it also depends on city or highway driving

although i do think you should be a little better than you are, since i average about 12-13mpg on the highway at around 80-85 mph, (yeah i speed, what of it?), its wierd though if i run closer to the speed limit like as in 65-70, i get worse mileage, figure that one out for me

4.11 gears aren't going to net you the best gas mileage Also, what are the specs on the cam...if it is too much that could be a factor also...

It doesn't matter if I'm doing city driving or highway...it still gets just about the same. The cam is a comp cam w/210in 220ex duration, .500in .510ex lift, and 114 degree lobe sep.
Thanks,
Adam

doesn't sound too bad...if i hop on the gas fairly often, I'll get about 200 miles to the 11-12 gallons i use before gassing up. If I drive conservatively, I'll get a good 240 miles out of the same amount of gas. This is in-town driving. Interstate driving, I'll get about 24 mpg.

more coming soon

I fill up every 200 or so miles, but hit empty around 250 give or take a few for how many times I stomp it. I really wish the gas mileage was better, but not much I can do about it.
