Why do these sub-frame connectors look so funny?

http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...63&prmenbr=361

I ordered the last ones on this list. To my knowledge, my Z does not have a rear cross-member.. they dont come stock right? Well, those subframers came in the mail and they dont look like the ones pictures. On the end of each of them, there is some flag-shaped weird looking thing that has bolt holes in it.
Any ideas wtf is going on?
BTW.. it does NOT look like the one pictured, for reference

hmmmm I've never heard of a rear crossmember on our cars either. I thought most SFCs for thirdgens connected where the LCAs bolt in.

Oh really? Maybe that is what the weird-looking flag-shaped thing w/ bolt-holes is for
What happens.. you just loosen the lca, put the sfc thru it, bolt back up the lca, and then weld the connector on?

I don't have SFCs yet so I don't know for sure, but I've heard that's where they go. Check out the fourth picture from the bottom on the Spohn site. http://www.spohn.net//index.cfm?acti...d&contentid=10

Hm.. mine deffinently doesn't look like that; instead of that tubular, round piece that hooks up to the lca's, i have this one-sided piece of steel that looks like a triangle stickign out from the one side of each sfc, w/ a few bolt-holes in each of them

Pictures of what was delivered to you would be the best way to get any real help in diagnosing this problem.....

Just trying to help.

wow not sure why youd waste your money on something that looks like that. If you have any good speed shops in your area they will usually fab sfc's up and install them for under 200 bucks

Well, that is a generic picture, so you can't go by that.

A pic of the subframes you received would help a lot.

Its not your CAR that will have the crossmember... the KIT will have the crossmember. Notice the price difference?

The sub frame connectors that I bought many years ago had extentions that bolted to the frame stiffeners on both sides of the trans. by the bell housing. Are you sure your not trying to install them backwards?

Lol, no your probably getting a bad image due to my description. They are square-ular sfc's, VERY heavy duty steel, and on the end of them there is a triangular shaped thing
Pluse.. why spend $200 on them when I payed $85, plus MAYBE another $20 to have them welded up

$20 to get them welded? That would be the deal of the century!!!!!! Mine were like $85 and I got off cheap. My hat is off to you if you can get a quality welding job done for that price.
