Who makes a stroker kit for the 305's?
Who makes a stroker kit for the 305's?
Why? Just because. I might be picking up this 3rd gen rolling chassis and have a 305 laying around that i could toss together for cheap. i know that it's not the BEST decision, but hell, my other car was built the right way

speed automotive has a stroker kit for a 305. I think it's under 600 for the rotating assembly.
I would like to see what you could do with a thirdgen.
Did you sell your z?

Re: Who makes a stroker kit for the 305's?
nope, decided to keep it. the piston slap pissed me off so much that the motor's getting rebuit to the 387 instead of the 382. Different heads. The TH400 is ready for the converter and the direct port is ready to go back on the new 90mm LSX instead of the 78mm i had before.
as for the 3rd gen, i was thinking a low compression blow through carb s-trim setup
haha, why? just cause.

Thats cool.
Look for subtle changes from me for next year. I'm looking for 50-60 more rwhp. I want to trap close to 120 mph before I exlpore a power adder.

Powehouse, P.A.W., Speed-o-Motive, and many more. Some companies sell the shortblock complete also.
Rebuilding a worn out 350 will run the same, as will making that 350 a 383 or even larger.
335's are not a bad idea but that's my .02.

Re: Who makes a stroker kit for the 305's?
bore/stroke probably isn't his main concern and the more cubes the better as far as a street car goes. The small bore in general sucks but adding stroke isn't terrible really. Staying with small valves/ports, etc can still create something fun to drive.
What's it gonna be, Chris?!

Re: Who makes a stroker kit for the 305's?
That kit will not net you a running engine. You will need to spend at least another $500-$600 on machine work. On top of that, you'll need to install a different balancer and flexplate (externally balanced), which are NOT included in any kits. And you still won't have a shortblock that's ready for big boost. Additionally, you're still stuck with the small bore, which not only shrouds the valves, but also severely limits cylinder head choices. By the time you add everything up, you could have bought a much stronger 350 block, with forged internals, that would stand up to the boost, and make a ton more power.
