Quite honestly, in my experience, your money would be better spent elsewhere. Those "performance" chips only change about 12-20 data points in the "tune" of the ECM. For recerence, I have to change 6 data points just to get my Torque convertor to lock up and unlock when I want it to. Lets not even get into the Spark tables and the MAF tables, the fan turn ons, the Decel enlean, spark retard, Spark retard decay rate, Delta TPS, Accel enrich, etc etc etc. There are literally hundreds of parameters if not thousands( depending on how you look at it.)

Like I say you'd bebefit more from performance mods than you would from a chip. I gained 1.2 seconds and 8mph in the 1/4 mile from engine mods while still running a stock chip.

i dont know of a good insult for the jet chips, but hypertech chips are quite commonly reffered to as hyperjunk chips.

Understand this, the ONLY way to get a good custom made chip, is to have your car on a dyno and have someone actively adjusting a custom burned chip as you make a number of pulls.

They even sell mail order chips for modded engines which is a joke, because they HAVE to detune the chip below optimal because every engine is different and they would take a chance at blowing up motors if they didnt.

All the jet chip will do is retard your timing a little and the only good advantage, is it gets rid of the speed limiter that the stock chip has.

save up some more money and put it towards headers or intake. Or maybe even a set of rear end gears if youd like, but save ur cash on the chip.

Yep, save your money and dont get one of those generic chips, especially for a TBI. Change your initial timing from 0 to 6 degrees and you'll accomplish 90% of what those chips will do for you, for free.

Performance Resource in NJ,great customer service and the best chip i have ever used, they guarantee up to 7 tenths and we have avg. 5 tenths over all.
as long as you are honest about your mods you will not be dissatisfied!
