Where in the heck is the ECT sensor.

I know its on the passanger side of the motor, and actually I belive I know where it is, but theres nothing on my harness that fits it. It's this little black nipple that comes of a sensor just under the passenger side head, right? But theres nothing on my harness that fits it. There is one wire that looks to be broken and I thought that might be it. Any help would be nice as I believe that this is why my car is running so rich and there for running like ***.

I believe that is the knock sensor you are describing if it is the black nipple thing below the heads. If it is the 305 or 350 TPI car, the ECT sensor is in the front of the car, screwed into the manifold. If you are facing the front of the manifold standing in front of the car, you would see it.

Your right, now I remember. I did some research and the "black nipple thing" I was talking about earlier is the fan switch.

If it is under the head, it is the Knock Sensor. If it is in the head, it is the aux fan switch.

I've got it all figured out now. All thats left is trying to figure out why it's running so rich. The SES light is on so a buddy of mine is going to put his computer on it.

If you short out the A & B terminals in the ALDL, it would flash code 12 and then several error codes and tell us what the problem might be.
