Angry Where does this PLUG GO?!?!?!?!

I pulled the motor out of my 89 iroc and I have 2 questions. ON the passengers side on the block is that a coolant sensor right under the header? Also I have a 4 prog plug by the distributor whit with a violet, grey, and green wire there is only three wires on the 4 prong plug where does it go?

Thanks,
TYLER!!!!!!!!!!!!

the one in the head is to turn the fan(s) on.

the wires go to the computer for spark reference and injector firing.

Where we have it routed now is by the distributor it can't reach much past the distributor unless you route it on the drivers side. It comes out of the main harness that runs along the fire wall and goes to injectors and arcoss the engine bay to the drivers side firewall.

Narrowed it down BEEN doing a LOT of reseach will check ALL DATA at work tomorrw. It says in Chilton no MAP was on 89's but the wires are the identaical for the map sensor. But the plug is different than the all in one row for the map its a 4 prong with 3 wirs. shaped like a square. So where should my map be on an 89. It is different than any other year it what the manual says. I think it has dissappeared. Let me know.

Thanks,
Tyler

That sounds vaguely like the plug for the lockup function of the tranny's torque converter (plugs into trans). Auto trans car?

I agree with Damon, is the 4 prong connector like this:

* *
* *

Also, the plug on the block (passenger's side) should be the knock sensor (above the oil pan rail). If it is mounted on the cylinder head, it is the fan switch.
