Each tire company and tread design measure deferant diameters.

Best thing to do is find out what tire you want and try to find a chart with the manufacturer of the tire specs.

I did the same thing trying to find a tire for a set of 18 as the tires I already have on my 16's.

Good Luck!

do the math, although tire manufacturers do measure from different parts of the tire they are relativly close so if you have a tire that is 245/50/16 that means the section width or "tread"is 245 mm wide the side walls are 50 percent of the section width and your rim diameter is 16 in the tires diameter should be about 69 cm. or 690mm or aprox. 27.5in.again these are estimates I did not use a calculator so these figures are not pefect

The width is already in the tire size. The difference in height is a calculation.

section width x ratio / 2540 x 2 + rim size.

245/50/16 = 25.64" tall
225/65/15 = 26.51" tall

Well

You take the first number for example 245 divided by 25.4 to convert to inches. The multiply it by the ratio. .60 for example for a 60 series tires. Take that times two and then add the diameter of the rim.

225/60-15 would be the same height.

225/60-15 = 25.6"
245/50-16 = 25.7"
