Im trying to complete this swap and I'm now wondering where to mount the computer. It doesnt appear that the wiring would reach to the stock location. Where did you mount yours? If you have pictures please post them. Also, where are the wires that I will have to splice? I know which one they are on the harness, but where are those located on my car? Does anyone have a diagram of which wires go to what? Im sure I can figure it all out, but if someone already has, then there is really no need for me to. Also, Im nearing the end of the swap, so any tips or hints that might be helpful feel free to add. Thank you.

 

I'm thinking about doing this swap. What year Doner did you use? I'm thinking about '96ish. You could possibly mount it inside the right fender where the PCM wire harness passes through for the stock PCM. I'm sure you could fab up something. If you do have to extend the wiring definitely put it in the stock location. That would not be too difficult. How did the rest of the swap go? Any pics?

 

I used a 94 LT1/T56 combo, but the later years with the vented opti would be better, but I just got a pretty good deal on the donor.The swap went really well. It is fairly easy to see exactly what you have to do, but getting it to do what you wanted was the only "hard" part. Of course, I have'nt got to wiring yet, but we'll see how that goes. I dont have pics yet, I will have them when it is all complete.

 

on my 85' Z hard top lt1/t56 it had an aftermarket painless wiring harness with that harness i ran the PCM on the driver side inside front part of the strut tower.....

 

Check out thirdgen.org if it is back up for the info on wiring. I just bought a manual each vehicle 93 TA and 90 Camaro. My computer is mounted on the passenger side near the shock tower.
