I have a 87 camaro and i plan on porting the heads. I am looking to spend around $800. What would be my best bet?

 

Do them yourself and spend the money you save on something else. You win two ways!

You could try porting it yourself like SB mentioned or go to better aftermarket aluminum heads that flow better out of the box.

 

With $800 to spend I'd start looking into head swaps instead of port jobs. You'll gain about the same amount of performance, and if you ever want more then porting will still be an option. Or maybe even find a set of used 'Vette L98 heads and port those yourself....that way you get the performance but not the down-time.
