When you get a code 32.....

What usually seems to be the main culprit? The egr valve? I am looking into getting an 85 IROC in nice original condition. It just idles rough and has this code in it along with the check engine light being on. Anyone experienced with this code and problem? Engine is a 305 TPI with a 700r4 tranny. Thanks!

Yeah Matt, even with it running rough it still had more ***** than my slightly modded carbed 305 in my old z28. I will figure out the problem if I get the car, but was just wondering how many peeps here experienced a rough idle and driving problem with this code, and what it mainley seemed to be. That code is tied into the Barometric pressure sensor circuit and some vaccum storage circuit, on top of the egr valve.

Re: When you get a code 32.....

The valve itself may be bad or all carboned up inside and not functioning as it should. Also, TPIs actually have a temperature sensor inside the valve itself that senses if (hot) exhaust gasses are actually passing through the vave when the ECM is commanding it to open.

Beyond that is the EGR solenoid itself- it's how the ECM regulates vacuum to the EGR valve and, therefore, when it opens.

Re: When you get a code 32.....

I would ignore it, but I can't. Whatever is related to it is causing the vehicle to idle very rough and stumble on acceleration. Like I said I'm not too worried about it, I'll be able to figure it out, was just wondering who else has had a similar problem with their camaro running rough and while having this code. Cool beans!

P.S. Still looking to get this car. Will have the money this week sometime, if the guy still has it. He said I had first dibs on it. Some other guy was coming to look at it though, but he told me he'd let me know what this guy wanted to do so I could still see if I wanted it. I tried calling him yesterday but he didnt answer, and I haven't heard back from him yet. I'll give it another day or so, and try and call again, I hope he didn't just sell it cause I really wanted it.
