Post When I turn the wheel it chokes....

Yup, when I turn the steering wheel all the way to the left or right, it whines and then the car shakes and then chokes.

And on another note, when I'm driving at low speeds (1st and 2nd gear) it sounds like I have a flat tire, I havent heard this before and it doesn't do it in higher speeds, or atleast, I don't hear it....

Anyone know how to fix the steering wheel problem, or what it might be?
And what would cause the 'flat tire' sound?

Thanks
^_^

when yu turn all the way to one direction or the other, the power steering gearbox, shuts, closes off the passage that fluid usually goes through, so the pump has to relieve pressure somehow, the pump has a valve in it, the whining you here, is from the pump, having to use its pressure relief. its generally accepted as a bad idea to hold the steering against the stops, for any length of time more than absolutely necessary, it can damage the pump. as far as the shaking and "choking" its because when you do as i described you are dragging the pump down, and your power steering belt is gripping good enough to cause the motor to drag a little bit, usually the belt will sqeaul first.
hopefully that ends one mystery for you, the other one i have no clue

Thanks, The only thing I'm worried about is that it didn't do it before I took it in to get an oil change, I noticed it on the way home, so could the oil change have had anything to do with it?
