Whats wrong w/ temp gauge

Hey I need help w/ my temp gauge. It stays at 100 all the time. When I start the car it goes over then back so I know the gauge itself is working. The dealer put a new sending unti in before I bought it so maybe thats the problem? Anyone have any ideas. thanks

mine was like that to. very rarely did it move from the 100 mark comes out the previous owner removed the thermostat. I put one in and my temp gauge works.
Id change the thermostat. even if it has one, it could be stuck open.

Mines the same way but Mines that way for a reason. My car kept over heating even after we changed the Water pump, Thermo stat & even after it blow the rad. So my husband Hot wired the fans to the battery so the min i turn on the key my fans run 100% of the time. This summer before race season we are going to switch it to a switch or a thermal fan switch that will be hooked to the Rad. when it gets a temp then it will turn on then shut off when it cools down.

Yeh, I'd guess it's either unconnected or wrong/bad sender. A common mistake is putting the one in for the "dummy-light".
Also a bad or disconnected oil pressure gage will peg over 60psi all the time, after started.
