Question Whats the best way to put on an intake???

I am putting on my new intake and want to make sure everything seals properly. I have all fresh gaskets and Permatex Ultra Black silicon. I have a few questions.

1) What is the best way to go about putting on the intake and make sure everything seals properly so I have no oil leaks or vacume leaks?? Is there a method and a property way of applying the gaskets and silicon sealent? Also, do I have to let the silicone settle before dropping on the manifold?

2) What order do I torque the intake manifold bolts and to how many pounds.

Thanks in advance.

Nick

see manual for sequence, 35 ft/lbs. use some sort of self locating guide in opposing corners, i used a shortened pencil.

i have always torqued it in increments from 15 ft/lbs - 25 ft/lbs - 35 ft/lbs

also not sure if this post is "advanced tech" hope that helps

sequence (from memory) don't quote me

8 - 7 - 2 - 3 - 9 - 10
front
6 - 5 - 1 -4 - 11- 12

Use quality name brand gaskets.

Toss the rubber end seals. Use the black RTV on the ends, 1/4" bead, and extend the bead from the block onto the heads about 1/2".

Apply small amount of RTV on gaskets around water passages to prevent leaks and to hold gaskets in place on heads while you drop the intake.

Apply thread sealer/RTV on intake bolts to prevent oil seepage.

Let everything sit for an hour so the RTV sets in place.
