What size tires should I have in the back?

I'm trying to decide what size tires I should get for the back. My plan is to have the car hitting low 12's to high 11's yet still keeping it streetable.

So, what do you guys think. I was thinking maybe 12" in the back, or is that still too small? Just wanted to get some opinions.

I see 9 second cars on 10" tires and 14 second cars on 15" tires.

There is no hard and fast rule. Worry about having enough horsepower before you get too concerned about tire size.

You're not going to get a 12" tire in there without a minitub & suspension relocation. you're doing good if you can squeeze a 10" slick in there without making changes.

Yeah, I figured I'd have to get it tubbed a little, because 12" are pretty big...any clue as to how much that might run me...ballpark figure, perhaps?

Ive got 295 in mine now 10" wide. Just make sure you have good stiff shocks otherwise you will rub when you hit a mild bump.
