What muffler would sound the best ?

Which muffler would sound the best on my '92 Z-28 350 TPI ?

1. Hooker Aerochamber
2. Dynomax Ultra Flow
3. Flowmaster 80 Series

My votes on the flowmaster, but I've found exhaust is really a personal opinion. I've never heard the dynomax but I've read bad things about their exhaust systems... the hooker's sound nice---very mellow, yet throaty. The flowmaster's were louder, more angry-sounding... loved the flowmasters.

I think I've got a hooker setup. There aren't any markings and it was on the car before I bought it. Anyway it sounds amazing....so Hooker gets my vote

Well I thought I was going to be able to help you out, but it doesn't look like it. I have the dynomax ultra flow and it sounds unbelievable. It is very loud and throaty (if you like that kind of thing). I highly reccomend it.

Does anyone around here have audio clips of their exhaust? I know alot of people on other forums do that.

I got Edelbrock headers and Y pipe, 3" cutout before cat, Catco high flow cat, and a stock catback with a Flowmaster 80 series. But I have a Hooker 3" catback waiting to be installed as we speak.

Idle through Flowmaster

Idle Open cutout (before cat)

I got a Dynomax Super Turbo 3" no cat on my 305 and it sounds ok.Its not like stupid loud or anything but when ya punch it-it sounds sweet. It also idles with extremely deep tones.Almost hurts the ears upon start up.
But if ya want LOUD...Hooker is where its at!

I've got a dynomax ultra flow on my 97, and it sounds awesome. Way better than the flowmaster ever sounded.

The hooker will sound good too but it won't be quite as loud.
Loud is not always good;.
Ever seen the rednecks in their huge old chevy/Ford 4x4 truck drive by with their straight pipes (or glasspacks) driving by sounding like a machine gun? Good God they should be arrested it sounds so nasty.

Unless you want to know if something is too loud, this conversation is pointless without soundclips. 'Sounding good' is relative to the person hearing it.

A 40 series Flowmaster will always sound better than the crossflow 80 series. It'll be a bit more rumblier at idle and definately when you're foot's on the floor.. Goodluck!

Oh and since I cheated with my answer, I'll choose the MagnaFLow just for fun.

For sure Spintech all the way Nice deep idle, not too loud but open it up and it sounds like a NASCAR series car.
