what kind of hp gain can be expected by adding a 400 crank
Re: what kind of hp gain can be expected by adding a 400 crank
I assume you mean; what would you gain by going from a 350 to a 383 without changing anything else?
Well, not that you CAN change the crank and nothing else, but pretending you can to keep the question simple...? You can expect about a 10% gain.

Advanced tech is for , well...... "advanced" topics. You've already posted a related thread in "General F-Body Tech", so that is more than adequate. Since you're apparently interested in 3rd Gen F-Bodies, try posting on the correct forum, which would be "3rd Gen Engine Tech".
I'll help you out by moving this thread there.

Re: what kind of hp gain can be expected by adding a 400 crank
this is a really broad question...for one thing you can have a 600 hp 383, and you can have a 350 horsepower 383...it all depends on how ya build the top end...383's are badass engines, but you can make almost equivalant power with a 355 if you build it right..
