what does it take to get the carpet out
what does it take to get the carpet out
thinking about working on the car again, the weather has been really forgiving. er i mean we dont have 4 ft of snow flying every week now.
i would like to just take out the carpet to shampoo it and look for holes in the floor.
is it all 1 peice for the passenger compartment and 1 peice for the trunk?
and what all do i have to remove like the door sills and kick panels? oh and seats
my kick panels could use a cleaning as well are they just in with glue?
if theres a small hole should i have it welded or just grind off the rust, prime paint and glass the hole?
oh and the car is outside in the forest, it had rust showing on the rockers im going to soak them with rust killer in the airsol can

Yeah, I think there is 1 piece for the passenger compartment and 1 piece for the trunk. I think removing the carpet shouldnt be too hard. For the passenger compartment I think you just have to remove the seats, seatbelts, kick panels, and maybe the rocker panels. Im not sure if you have to remove the center console or not.
The kick panels are just held on by glue so you could just rip it off then hot glue them back on when your done.
The door sills are pretty easy to get out too. If I remember correctly they are held in by 4 or 5 screws. You will probably have to loosen or take out the seatbelt to get it fully out.

seats, consol, sil plates, kick panels, seat belts....alot of stuff....taking the carpet out is easy but putting it back in perfectly can be a bitch.....im putting new carpet in mine right now and this is the second time ive taken out and put the carpet back in in like 4 months
