what do you guys think???.....I have a 89 305/700r camaro that has been unstarted(stored) for 8 years.......and I'm about to try to get it going again....heres the question....the automatic tranny.......will it be alright.....or should I plan on taking it out for a rebuild??????the engine turns over fine...I oiled the cyclinders before I cranked on it....and it turns over fine......the tbi looks pretty gunked up.....is that easily cleaned?????any info appriciated

 

transmission should be ok..the only thing i can see is the seals going bad after years of sitting, i know that can happen to the motor but im not sure about the tranny. Just give it a good tune up and see if she'll run. If not, we can work from there to get it to run...

as fas the tbi systems goes...use some carb cleaner, and run some seafom in the gas tank. Once she fires and is able to run...run some seafom through a vac line. That should clean up the insides a bit. Most likely it'll need a good drive to get running right.
