what to do, broken wheel?

I broke the part of my wheel that is in yellow, we will IGNORE the fact that I'm a moron and hit a parking lot cement spacer while doing 360's in a parking lot. However that chunk is missing on my wheel, it's my driver side rear wheel, will that affect the wheel strength? My dad says that I should replace it because it may not hold up...but I don't think the outside lip is what holds the weight? Am I wrong? It looks like ****, but I don't want to get a mismatched wheel that isn't the same color, plus no one sells just 1 wheel.

PS: Someone wants to sell me 1 gold iroc wheel let me know

Well there's no weight on the wheel there, but if the lip is broken off then the edge that's left will eventually cut through the tire bead and your tire will fly off on the highway. Needless to say this is not a good thing. You'll probably be o.k. for a few weeks, but definitely replace it. Try ebay, you can usually find single wheels there.

You can buy one wheel from AAA wheel refinishers. They are a advertiser here. go to that section and look it up and they will tell you what it cost. I think they are around 200.00 a wheel. http://www.aaarims.com/
They are 188.00 a wheel plus exchange and shipping. They also had some wheels that look like the y2k Vette wheels or Cobra R wheels for 149.00 a wheel. That is the first time I saw those for a 3rd gen. Hopes this helps

Why spend $200 on one wheel when you can get 4 for almost the same price? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33748

Or just 2 rears http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33748

Another set of 4 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...&category=6763

yea j, im currently bidding on the 2 rears, not sure how much i should be willing to spend if the price starts to go up though, but they look in good condition, they are the same color as mine (gold) if i can pick them up for less then 100$ ill be happy, i just asked the sellers if they were 16x8, i figure they are, but i might as well still ask (did they even make 15's that year?)

i've never bid on ebay before so this is all a learning experience...

I get about 75% of my parts off ebay. It's a great resource if you know how to use it, and have time to sift through all the auctions.

Be carefull with ebay as there is a guy in Michigan ripping people off on ebay and here in the for sale section. Go to the Mich board and you will see a large thread about the guy. He has gotten alot of people under different names. Just wanted to give you a heads up. If you do run into a guy from Mich selling something email me and I will try to find out if it is him. I know alot of people from the Mi board like Jason D and Chris F the owners of Z28.com. Just trying to help a fellow 3rd genner.

Is it Hawk's Thirdgen? Cuz Bruce Hawkins is a great guy to do business with. I just got a 9-bolt from him.
