what can i do??

ok right now i have a 84 z28. i have recently just bought a 89 celica for a beater car. i have the chance to just rip apart the camaros motor. so far i have all my fuel lines off carbs off and intakes almost off i'm getting new carb and intake for b-day which is in like a week. this motor is a 350 i still have to find out what yearit is, it's a v-belt. but i was wondering what i would be able to do for pretty cheap while i had all of this off to make some more hp. i am gettign headers with my next pay check but evey thing else is stock on this engien it was rebuilt 2 owners ago so i should prob. be brining it to a shop soon, to get it checked out. the setup i'm getting for my intake and carb is form edelbrock it's a combo deal. edelebrock carb/intake/cam and lifters for like 530 something. any herd of this deal and will it be a good setup for me thank you

Intake and headers will help out a good bit. A cam will also change the entire car when matched w/ the right intake. That is what I would do if it were me. Throw a decent cam in after the intake and headers!!!

If you're doing both cam and intake do them both at once. You have to pull the intake to change the cam anyway.

just get the systemax kit from holly. heads, cam, chain, intake etc. 425 HP on an average 350 with a nice carb. priced around 1300. not bad for some serious HP gains

trust me, the longer it takes to build, the better it is. i have a few years and over 10k into my car now and its still not moving. just got the cage welded in today, spend all my hood money on that and a new center console. but its great, now i can get my new black carpets and start trimming them to fit the cage. just take your time and save your money, dont rush. its worth it in the end

Edlebrock's kit is an awsome matched system that will make good power and be very driveable. The cam is nothing to be feared, any repair manual can walk you through the remove & replace pretty easily, plus you can always ask here if you hit a snag.
Do it all at the same time, it'll be easier that way. You got learn sometime, the main point to learn is "observation", look closely how something acts, is assembled, in what order, and always double check everything....taking notes, making drawings of vac hose routing and wiring etc will definitely help...I still even take pictures before taking apart some cars..
